Kristin Chenoweth told Prevention her must-have drugstore beauty product.
The 53-year-old swears by Bio-Oil, and reveals the surprising areas she applies it.
The TONY-awarding-winning actress also loves Nivea Chapstick in Pink Shimmer.
Kristin Chenoweth has learned a few beauty tricks during her decades-long career. The TONY award-winning actress has spent enough time in the makeup chair to learn what works for her. Now, she’s sharing the wealth with Prevention, so to speak, and revealing her go-to drugstore beauty product: Bio Oil.
“The people don’t want us to know about it,” Chenoweth jokes. “I want people to know about it. I love Bio-Oil.”
Chenoweth’s go-to skincare “trick” involves applying the product to some unexpected places. The 53-year-old says she rubs the oil near laugh lines and around eyes—two common wrinkle-prone areas—for glowing skin. She’s also been known to use it if she has an irritation or skin discomfort.
“If you’re consistent, it’s huge,” she says of her bio-oil application tip.
Full of nourishing ingredients like vitamin A and E, chamomile oil, sunflower oil, and lavender oil, the powerhouse product features anti-inflammatory properties and promotes healthy skin. And it can be used to help with the appearance of acne scars (even on the face!) and stretch marks.
Chenoweth isn’t the only celebrity to sing the oil’s praises. Halle Berry uses the product for stretch marks, Jenna Bush Hager applies it right after a shower for hydrated skin, and Danielle Brooks has been known to post about it on social media. Plus, customers love it, too. With over 129,000 reviews on Amazon and nearly a five-star rating, it clearly resonates with users.
“Makes your skin look amazing and fast skin absorption,” writes one Amazon reviewer. “So you can get dressed right after application. I got it for a scar and now it’s a staple in my skincare.” Another reviewer writes, “I purchased the 2 oz bottle to try it. Love the scent and how it feels on my skin. I probably need to continue using it for several more weeks to see results, but it moisturizes so even if it doesn’t resolve the stretch marks issue, I can apply it to nourish my skin.”
As for one of her other go-to beauty products, Chenoweth says Nivea’s chapstick in Pink Shimmer is such a staple of hers, that she’s always searching high and low for it because it’s frequently sold out at drugstores.
“If I’ve got [Nivea Chapstick] and my Bio-Oil I’m good,” she told Prevention.
“I’m a pink girl, and it comes in a pink shimmer, it comes in a red, it comes in a coral. But now every time I go to get it, it’s gone!” Chenoweth told New Beauty earlier this year. “I know they’re selling them, because they do still have the regular flavor. If you just put that on, whatever color you feel, you’ll be surprised how much it brightens up your face. By the way, I’m not being paid by Nivea!”
Whatever Chenoweth is using seems to be working. We can’t wait to get our hands on these potent products!
