Schitt’s Creek actress Annie Murphy’s upcoming comedy film The People We Hate at the Wedding has added a Disney Princess to the cast.
The Good Place and Frozen star Kristen Bell is joining Murphy, as well as previously announced Oscar-winning actress Allison Janney and Pitch Perfect star Ben Platt, in the dysfunctional family comedy.
The new movie is an adaptation of the Grant Ginder book of the same name about widowed Donna (Janney) who loves smoking joints, drinking wine and watching House Hunters.
She’s forced to reunite with her daughter Alice (Bell), who is stuck in a dead-end job and having an affair with her married boss, and son Paul (Platt), who isn’t a fan of monogamy, to attend the wedding of her daughter Eloise in the English countryside.
The film will be directed by Claire Scanlon, whose directing credits include Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Office and Glow.
The adaptation will be written by Emmy-winning duo Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin and Wendy Molyneux, known for their work on Bob’s Burgers and Deadpool 3.
