PLUMSTEAD TOWNSHIP, PA — Changes are happening at the Cross Keys Place Shopping Center in Plumstead Township.
The Giant supermarket, which currently occupies 50,000 square feet in the shopping center, will be relocating and expanding to a new 72,500 square foot store in the former Kmart at 4357 West Swamp Road, which closed in 2019. The new store will offer expanded hot foods and ready to eat offerings, including an updated Beer & Wine Eatery and an in-store Starbucks kiosk.
Five Below, a specialty discount retailer based in Philadelphia, is opening a roughly 9,000 square foot space between the existing True Value Hardware and the new Giant.
Both stores are expected to open in the fall.
Joe Waters, president of Waters Retail Group, said Kmart’s departure “offered an opportunity to revitalize the Shopping Center”.
The second phase of the Cross Keys Place makeover will include renovations to the existing shopping center and the replacement of the existing Giant, expected to be replaced by a Marshalls & Homegoods store. The improvements are expected to be completed in fall 2023.
“When this project is completed, we believe that the Cross Keys Place Shopping Center will be the premier retail center in the Doylestown area,” said Kevin Lahn, Vice President of Waters Retail Group.
